  • CLDRC - The Colorado Learning Disabilities Research Center is the original study from which participants for the current RDF study were chosen.
  • NIDCD - The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders provides funding for the current study.
  • IBG - The Institute for Behavioral Genetics conducts many different studies designed to collect information about the genetic and environmental bases of individual differences in behavior.
Reading Development
  • SSSR - The Society for the Scientific Study of Reading is a non-profit organization that promotes the scientific study of reading and disseminates information about reading and related areas such as language and literacy.
  • International Dyslexia Association - The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with dyslexia, their families and the communities that support them.
  • LDonline - A general reading disabilities site that has articles about preventing and assisting individuals with reading difficulties.
  • International Reading Association - At this site you can download free brochures that provide valuable tips for parents of young readers.
Twin Research
  • International Society for Twin Studies - The International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS) is an international, nonpolitical, nonprofit, multidisciplinary scientific organization. Its purpose is to further research and public education in all fields related to twins and twin studies, for the mutual benefit of twins and their families and of scientific research in general. The Society was founded in Rome in 1974.
  • Mid-Atlantic Twin Registry- The MATR includes families in North and South Carolina and Virginia who are willing to participate in research. This link provides a good answer to the question "Why study twins?"
