Softball
My softball career began
in Richmond as a member of the Islanders 77 rep team.
The Islanders 77 was a very successful team winning many
provincial championships.
The culmination of my travel ball experience was 2 successive
National Championships with the Richmond Pride.
My coach for 10+ years for all of this time was Mike Woods.

Here I am batting at a tournament at the University of Hawaii in 1999.
My career at LMU lasted from 1995-2000 (redshirt 1998), and
was to say the very least an experience.
During my career we won the WISL Championship all 4 years
(once by default but it looks good on paper!).
Despite lack of support and funding, the LMU softball team
of this era was one of the most successful teams in the athletic department.
To this day many of the women that I played softball with
remain some of my very best friends and some of the most extraordinary
people that I have ever met.
From L to R: Heather Hollis, Meredith Butler, Erin McGuire,
Stephanie Sandell, Heather Gelhorn

These women all played with me at LMU for four years.

Two of my friends from Los Angeles, they played with me at Loyola
Marymount and now they play slow pitch....this is their team that just
won the championship. Heather Alexander is on the left end in the
middle row (Indians jacket) and Ann Marie (Murray) is on the right end
of the same row (gray sweatshirt). They are two great friends I
made during my 6 years in California.
My softball career was cut short...or maybe long by two
torn anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL).
I got surgery both times.
