Research Projects.

We employ a variety of techniques to investigate the basis of the extended longevity in the Mit mutants.  These include: biochemistry, mass spectrometry, HPLC, genetics, RNAi, molecular biology and S. cerevisiae genetics. We have several projects underway and these can be summarized as follows.

bullet

The role of SKN-1 in Mit mutant longevity.

bullet

RNAi determined Mit mutants.

bullet

Mitochondrial Threshold Effects in Longevity Specification of the Mit mutants.

bullet

Metabolism in the Mit mutants.

bullet

Frataxin - a novel Mit mutant: Modeling Human Mitochondrial-associated Disoders.
