THE THIRTEENTH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON METHODOLOGY OF TWIN AND FAMILY STUDIES: THE INTRODUCTORY COURSE MARCH 13TH - MARCH 17TH, 2000

The next workshop will be held in Boulder, Colorado, March 13-17, 2000, with John Hewitt as local host. Most of the application programming will be based on the package, Mx, developed by Dr. Mike Neale for the flexible analysis of genetically-informative data. This course is intended to be introductory. Participants interested in more advanced work (e.g., those who have attended earlier workshops) should consider the advanced workshops planned for 2001 and 2003.

The registration fee will be $300.00, payable by January 14, 2000. Accommodations are being reserved at the Regal Harvest House, Boulder. The course will include: Use of twins in genetic analysis; summarizing variation; univariate twin analysis; between group heterogeneity; path analysis; multivariate twin analysis; multiple raters; sibling effects; categorical data; power analysis; quantitative trait loci (QTL). Hands-on analysis will be emphasized employing networked terminals.
