Genetic epidemiology is impelled by three basic questions:
- Why isn't everyone the same?
- Why are children like their parents?
- Why aren't children from the same parents all alike?
These questions address variation within individuals and covariation
between relatives. As we shall show, covariation between relatives
can provide useful information about variation within individuals.
