Pilot Studies

We are conducting a series of pilot studies to examine innovative approaches to the genetics and treament of HIV and other risk behaviors. Three pilot studies are currently underway.

1: The effectiveness of contingency management (a system of rewards) to induce substance abuse treatment entry and HIV medication adherence
2: The examination of reward activation systems using brain imaging in substance using and obese youth.
3: The influences of environmental variables (including smoking and alcohol consumption) on bacterial communities in saliva derived from alcohol dependent adolescents.

Additional studies will be outlined in more detail once they have been approved.
