Who?
Type of Test
CAP CORE SAMPLE: CAP adopted or matched control children and their first* younger siblings Annual Testing Through Age 17 <see CAP1-16 and CAPCADD>
Ages 18-21 on a Senior Interview and ACE 1, 2, and 3. The ACE tests also included questionnaire data. For the Core CAP, the NNSD measures are interwoven with the Sr. or ACE measures at ages 18-21.
The ACE 3 questionnaire was discontinued in favor of the CADD CAP questionnaire at age 21.
Re administered the basic CAP (Blue Book) cognitive and questionnaire data at age 21.
For the NNSD, all subjects, regardless of age, were administered NNSD1 for their first NNSD interview. At time of initial NNSD1, subject ages ranged from 18 to 30
In contrast to previous testing which was age based, NNSD measures are administered sequentially (e.g., an NNSD2 follows and NNSD1 even if there is a multi-year gap)
At age 26, any NNSD subject who is not at NNSD5 is skipped to that instrument.

ADDITIONAL CAP SIBLINGS:
Most are older full** and half-siblings, but some are younger siblings.
Attempts were made from the inception of the CAP to test the additional siblings on the basic CAP (Blue Book), resulting in a wide range of ages (16+) for this measure.
Some of the additional siblings have been used several times as a test-retest sample, resulting in intermittent data at younger ages.
ACE is not administered to additional siblings.
For the NNSD, all subjects, regardless of age, were administered NNSD1 for their first NNSD interview. At time of initial NNSD1, subject ages ranged from 18 to 30.
In contrast to previous testing which was age based, NNSD measures are administered sequentially (e.g., an NNSD2 follows and NNSD1 even if there is a multi-year gap)
At age 26, any NNSD subject who is not at NNSD5 is skipped to that instrument.

* In the adopting families, both the first adopted and first younger birth child of the parents (if any) were included.
** In the adopting families, full-sib refers not to a full biological sib but rather to a full legal sib (adopted or born to the same set of parents).
